Will the airport power outage in Atlanta hurt the regions Amazon HQ2 bid?

A few news articles have asked the question if the big holiday Atlanta airport power outage hurt the Amazon HQ2 chances?

When I saw on the news what had happened that was one of my first concerns and thoughts.  On December 18th, 2017 a major power outage stuck thousands overnight in Atlanta in the world’s busiest airport.

Hartsfield-Jackson was certainly in the news and I doubt it helped much if Amazon was visiting the city.  However, as the busiest airport, things are going to happen.  I think that the incident itself will not make much difference but in the coming months how the airport and the city reacts might make a difference to the bid.  I do believe that the event, if handled correctly, can actually help the city as they talk through it and explain the events to Amazon.

It is possible that what happened brings up some of the infrastructure issues that will need to be addressed anyway.  The gambling site Paddy Power currently has Atlanta as the favorite to land Amazon HQ2.  Atlanta and Austin currently are 3/1 odds with Boston in third with 7/1 odds.
